Street Folks, San Francisco, CA 2004
In 2004 I decided to photograph the faces of street folks for one year. I wanted to find out if this would make 'social' and 'photograph' sense. I offered an exchange only to people who first asked me for money - one dollar for one picture. Most people accepted the offer. An insider to their surfaces - an outsider to their circumstances - I ended the experience after the twelve months. It is a deformed culture that brings us together. Here are thirteen faces of capitalism from the 397 I met in our streets.
