THANK YOU TO ALL THOSE WHO HAVE CONTRIBUTED TO THE MOVEMENT AGAINST DAPL & CONTINUE TO WORK FOR WATER & LIFE FOR GENERATIONS TO COME. From the Bay to Standing Rock, we are connected in prayer and action our love & dedication to each other and for the earth.
I have learned so much and met so many incredible people throughout this journey and continue to make connections and build the relationships that I have developed throughout the last month.
Here is an update on the allocation of funds from this GoFundMe, how the money was used & what projects I am contributing my time, energy, and any other funds gathered at this time:
Thanks to your contribution, I was able to provide:
-12x12foot wall tent with stove for warm winter tent
-cots for Elders & patients in Medic Area Warming Tent. This is a communal space for re-warming and a place for people to get clean, dry socks, pants, coats, hats, gloves, scarves and hand/foot warmers, to help prevent cold weather injury and illness and prevent mild cold injuries from worsening.
-0 degree sleeping bags (regular, extra long & women's)
-fleece sleeping bag liners (add at least 10 degrees of warmth)
-wool socks
-hand/toe warmers
-support to local Bay Area Indigenous friends to travel to Standing Rock to support Two Spirit Nation Camp
-provide direct monetary support to Native folks on the ground with specific needs
In addition, your contributions made it possible for me to:
-work for 2.5 weeks at Oceti Sakowin Medic/Healer Area during the day in Medical Supply, receiving, sorting, organizing, and storing supplies, getting supplies, medications, equipment to providers as the need arose.
-setup Decontamination Tent & Staging Area for Direct Action support.
-run as Street Medic during non-violent direct action
-run as Medic on emergency calls within camp, provide Basic Life Support, first aid, and emotional/physical support to people in need.
-work as Medic on call in Cannon Ball Community Center Emergency Shelter
-do Inventory of supplies for Emergency Shelter mobile clinic, develop list of needs.
The work continues...
I am working in collaboration with a group of folks cleaning up abandoned 3 season and summer tents that are not usable due to weather conditions in ND, to be transported, repaired, and distributed as shelters for folks in the Bay Area & other locations. We are gathering funds for this project & in the beginning planning stages, more updates to come.
THANK YOU AGAIN FOR ALL YOUR GENEROUS CONTRIBUTIONS, FOR SHARING THIS LINK, FOR BEING ENGAGED, FOR TAKING CARE OF YOURSELVES & CHECKING IN WITH YOUR LOVED ONES, FOR CONTRIBUTING YOUR ENERGY, LABOR, AND LOVE TO THE WORK YOU DO! I LOVE YOU ALL!!!
